kid cudi & dot da genius // wzrd
cudi’s “rock album”. i admit, i just downloaded it illegally (i download all albums, only buying ones that i believe are deserving of my 12 bucks), but i’m still kind of excited. i’ve heard mixed opinions so far, but i also have a bit of faith in cudder, as he’s never disappointed in delivering unique, emotionally driven melodies that i can get behind.
let me just say, that anyone initially put-off by the idea of cudi doing a “rock album” need not to fret, as basically, cudi’s music has always been border-line alternative, and never all-the-way hip hop (i mean, what other rapper gets ratatat and MGMT to produce their songs?), and you can never take an artist too seriously when when they attempt their “experimental” album, so i have hope.
don’t get me wrong, i haven’t listened to it yet; i still need to pack a bowl before this listening party can commence. but don’t burn me at the stake if it turns out that this album is absolute trash. either way, i’ll let you guys know.
